A project alternative is a plan which reduces the rate of development on a specific site. The alternative would come to the same conclusions as the original plan but have fewer impacts on the land around it. In this case, the preferred plan would be the alternative project. The proposed project may still be rejected however, the alternative will be a more ecologically friendly choice. Consider consulting with stakeholders prior to choosing the alternative plan. Find out more about these options to determine which would be the best option for your property.

Alternative that is environmentally friendly

A Environmentally Superior Alternative to the Project will reduce the overall impact of the project while preserving the aesthetics of the area. The development will be substantially more expensive than the other plan, and the addition of 13,234 dwelling units would significantly increase the total amount of trips taken by motorists. The development would likely adhere to the same design guidelines. The result would be a significantly more appealing area.

To minimize the overall impact of the project's impacts to the environment, an Environmentally Superior Alternative (ESA), must be identified. This option will minimize the noise and vibration that comes with construction. It is still likely to achieve the basic goals of the project. It might not be the most appropriate option for the development. This is the reason an Environmentally Superior Alternative must be selected.

A more sustainable alternative to the Project would reduce the overall impact on the surrounding environment by around 60 percent. The increased residential intensity alternative would result in a more balanced employment/housing ratio. The proposed project would decrease total employment by 17%, while the alternative projects would eliminate the need for any new parking. Alternative 2 would also generate less noise than the Proposed Project. Alternative 2 is therefore an environmentally better alternative to the Project.

The No Project/No Development Alternative would lessen the impact by decreasing the footprint of the Project Site by approximately half. The Alternative would maintain the existing at-grade crossing on 13th Street. The environmental impact of the Project Alternative will be the same as Alternative 1, but the No Project/No Development alternative will reduce them more. The environmental benefits would be minimal for both alternatives. The Environmentally Superior Alternative to the Project would be an option that is better than the Project.

Residential intensification is increasing as an alternative

The Reduced Intensity Alternative, a viable development option, is superior to the Proposed Project. It would have a minimal impact on aesthetics, urban decay, and public services while attaining almost all its goals. The Reduced Intensity Alternative will include buffer strips to minimize the impact of construction noise and disturbance of land. This plan would not achieve all the project objectives. It would provide many desirable benefits to the community.

Three alternatives were considered by the OSA PEIR for the development. Three additional options were considered in addition to the initial plan. They were selected based on new information and CEQA Guidelines Section 150126.6. These alternatives could reduce the overall impact of the project on the quality of air and GHG emissions. These alternatives will also reduce the footprint of development. The Environmental Impact Statement will also take into consideration the social, economic and construction-related effects that are associated with the development of the project.

The Reduced Industrial Development Alternative will reduce the total number of industrial sites as well as their emissions. The plan would replace industrial use with residential uses while keeping the same policies and projections for water demand and quality. This option would result in less overall development than the Proposed Project. In addition the Residential Intensity Alternative would allow for less intense residential development within the floodplain of 100 years. While it would be less disruptive than the Proposed Project, it would not be governed by the same upgraded hydrology-related policies.

The Reduced Intensity Alternative is a more feasible alternative to the proposed Project. It would contain similar operational functions as the Proposed Project, but would have a buffer area to reduce noise and other impacts on sensitive receptors. The Reduction in Intensity Alternative is less expensive than the Proposed Project, and it is a great option for the neighborhood. In addition to reducing the overall impact it also reduces the overall impact. Reduced Intensity Alternative would decrease the effects related to noise, air quality, and climate change.

Clarizen One

Clarizen is a program for alternative managing projects that combines social interaction and project management.
