A alternative plan for a project is one that reduces the intensity of development on a specific site. The alternative would reach the same conclusions as the original plan but with less impact on the land surrounding it. In this case the alternative to the project is the most preferred option. An alternative to the project is a method to limit the impact of development on a particular site. The alternative will reach the same conclusions as the first project but would have less impact on the land around it. In this scenario the alternative plan is the most preferred option. Although the plan for the project might be rejected, it is possible to select an alternative that is more viable. The alternative should be chosen after consultation with stakeholders. Learn more about these options to help you determine which one is suitable for your home.

Alternative that is environmentally friendly

An Environmentally Superior Alternative to the Project is an alternative that could significantly reduce the overall impact of the development, while also preserving the aesthetics of the area. The alternative plan would be more expensive than the original plan and the addition of 13,234 dwellings would increase the number and frequency of motorist trips. However, the project would likely follow the same design guidelines. This would result in an area that is more desirable.

A project must determine an Environmentally Superior Alternative (ESA) to limit the total impact of its potential impacts. This option can reduce vibration and noise associated with construction. This alternative is still able to meet the main goals of the project. However, it might not be the best choice for the development. This is why it is essential to choose an Environmentally Superior Alternative.

An Environmentally Superior Alternative to the Project would reduce overall impacts on the surrounding areas by about 60 percent. The residential intensification option would create a balanced employment/housing ratio. The total employment would be reduced by 17 percent under the proposed proposal, while the alternative eliminates any need for new parking. The alternative would also produce less noise than the Proposed Project. Alternative 2 is therefore an environmentally better alternative to the Project.

The No Project/No Development Alternative would lessen the impact by reducing the footprint of Project Site by approximately half. The Alternative would maintain the existing at-grade crossing on 13th Street. While the environmental impacts of the Project Alternative would be the same as the Alternative 1, the No Project/No Development alternative would diminish them further. Both alternatives will have little environmental advantages. The Environmentally Superior Alternative to the Project would be an alternative that is superior to the Project.

Increased residential intensity alternative

The Reduced Intensity Alternative is a much more feasible concept for development than the Proposed Project. It would reduce impacts to aesthetics, public services, and urban decay while accomplishing most of the project's goals. The Reduced Intensity Option would include buffer strips to minimize the impact of noise from construction and disturbance to the land. This option would not fulfill all of the goals of the project. But it would achieve many desirable benefits for the community.

Three alternatives were analyzed by the OSA PEIR for the development. Three additional options were evaluated in addition to the initial plan. They were selected in light of new information and CEQA Guidelines Section 150126.6. These alternatives would reduce the overall impact of the project on air quality and GHG emissions. These alternatives will also reduce the development footprint. The Environmental Impact Statement will also take into consideration the socio-economic and construction-related impacts of the development of the project.

The Reduced Industrial Development Alternative would reduce the total amount of industrial sites and their emissions. The plan will replace industrial uses with residential uses, while preserving the same projections and policies for water consumption and quality. This alternative will result in less overall development than the Proposed Project. Additionally the Residential Intensity Alternative would allow for find alternatives less intense residential development within the 100-year floodplain. While it would be less disruptive than the Proposed Project, it would not have the same updated hydrology-related policies.

The Reduced Intensity Alternative is a more feasible alternative to the Project. It would have similar operational functions as the Proposed Project, but would have a buffer to reduce the noise and other effects on sensitive receptors. The Reduction in Intensity Alternative is cheaper than the Proposed Project, and it is a great option for the neighborhood. The Reduced Intensity option would lessen the overall impact as well as reduce impacts on noise, air quality and climate change, Alternative projects among other environmental issues.
